The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has confirmed the two-Test series will go ahead as scheduled after their security advisor Reg Dickason gave green signal to the tour, according to sources close to NDTV.

Sources also say that Dickason has expressed satisfaction on the security measures taken by BCCI and Tamil Nadu police.

The first Test will begin on December 11 at the M A Chidambaram stadium. The ticket sales for the December 11 to 15 first Test will start from Monday morning. The TNCA has also announced that the ticket amount would be refunded in case of cancellation of the Test.

Meanwhile, Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Sunday arrived in Chennai for the first Test while his teammates are expected to join him on Monday.

Kent pacer Amjad Khan, so far a member of the performance squad, will replace injured pacer Ryan Sidebottom in the England team for the two-Test series against India.

Young Yorkshire leg-spinner Adil Rashid will also travel to Chennai for the first Test even though he is yet to be officially named in the Test squad.

England’s Harmison and Flintoff are both in doubt still and if they pull out, England can turn to the performance squad to find replacements in Mahmood or Plunkett, besides having a look at either Samit Patel or Ravi Bopara.
