Kylie refused to meet Shah Rukh

, Australian pop sensation Kylie Minogue said she was enamoured of all things Indian – from the food to the Taj Mahal. One person she refused to be charmed by was India’s personal wonder –  Shah rukh khan.

Kylie was in India to shoot for the Akshay Kumar starrer  Blue  in which she is set to make a guest appearance and also do an item song of sorts.

While she wanted to soak up India, she did want to maintain a distance from Indians, and this included stars of great stature.

In an interview Kylie mentioned Om Shanti Om as one of her favourite Bollywood films. Upon reading this, SRK got in touch with her to arrange a meeting, but the pop-star refused point blank to see him.

According to reports, Kylie was very concerned about her safety and privacy and refused to make almost any public appearances in the fear that the mobs of people that would want to see her will disturb the shoot.

Given that Kylie spent most of her time with Akshay Kumar, this is one up for him over SRK.

Bollywood actress Amrita Arora, who tied the knot with businessman Shakeel Ladak, says she knew he was the one for her as soon as they met since they have “a karmic connection”.

“The minute I set my eyes on Shakeel I knew he was the man I wanted to marry. It’s like a karmic connection. I just felt it. I had never felt this before. Shakeel is everything that I want my husband to be. And I’m determined to make our marriage  work. I’ll do whatever it takes,” said Amrita just before her Christian wedding ceremony.

The couple is very clear about their wedding plans – a sangeet on Thursday will be followed by the nikaah on Friday. However, they haven’t decided where to go for their honeymoon.

“The problem is both Shakeel and I are so widely travelled that we have no place that we can claim as our private honeymoon spot. There doesn’t seem to be any place that neither of us hasn’t visited,” said Amrita.

“I guess we’ll just hold each other’s hand, close our eyes and point to any part of the globe and pick our honeymoon spot. It doesn’t matter where we go as long as we’re together,” she added.

Talking about the exchange of wedding vows, the actress said: “We were supposed to have a church wedding  but there were some security hassles so we quickly moved the venue to Olive. But there were no hassles because we had a standby ready.”

Amrita gives her sister Malaika all credit for the arrangements. “I know nothing about the wedding arrangement. It was all done by my sister who put her own life on hold to look into my wedding details. I’m blessed to have such a supportive family,” she said.

Kylie was Akki’s fan even before ‘Blue’

Australian singer Kylie Minogue signed up for hindi film Blue not just to get a taste of India and Bollywood but also because she is apparently a huge fan of action star Akshay Kumar.

“It started when Kylie watched Chandni Chowk To China. She was completely hooked to Akshay’s antics. In fact one of her main incentives for accepting Blue was the opportunity to meet up with Akshay. When she decided to do the film and the date for her arrival was confirmed, she made discreet inquiries about Akshay’s schedules and his availability,” said a source close to the film.

Apart from shaking a leg for director Anthony D’Souza’s Blue, she’s also fallen in love with all things Indian and has even draped a sari for a part of a song.

“She wanted to go through the full India experience, including the khaana (food), wedding and of course the Taj Mahal and Jaipur,” the source added.

D’Souza too said that the international pop star was a fan of Hindi films and, of course, Akshay.

“Kylie is a big Bollywood buff. She has done her homework and has seen lots of our movies. And she’s a huge Akshay fan. She’s seen lots of his films. I think she was at the premiere of Chandni Chowk To China in London. The comfort level between them comes from the fact that Kylie knows Akshay’s work,” the director said.

She’s also able to match steps with her Bollywood co-stars.

“She gets the nuances perfectly correct. And she’s very intelligent. I’ve shot with her for a week and I’m bowled over by her professionalism. She’s a fantastic performer,” said D’Souza.

Apart from Akshay and Kylie, Blue also stars Katrina Kaif and Lara Dutta.
